History was made today as five Australian
360-cubic-inch sprint car racers have officially been
invited to compete in the seventh Brodix Tournament of
Champions, August 7, at the legendary Knoxville

led by Victorian hotshoes Brett Milburn and Stephen
Bell, received the invitations after completing the
seven-race Sprintcar Control Council of Australia (SCCA)
qualifying series at Jeff Drew’s Avalon Raceway in
Geelong, Victoria, and Premier Speedway’s Sungold
Stadium in Warrnambool, Victoria. The
seven events, including the two compulsory rounds of
the Knoxville-Avalon-Premier (KAP) mini-series, took
place under the coordination of Jeff Drew of
Avalon, Rob Harris of Premier, Ian Vale of
the Sprintcar Racing Association (SRA) of Victoria,
and Jon Evans of Oval Express.
Besides
Milburn (269 points) and Bell (260 points), the other
official invitees are Philip Down (230 points), Bill
Fraser (221 points), and Ian Smith (218 points).
