SOS teams are welcome to compete with the Sprints On Dirt at South Buxton this Saturday night.
The MC-3 tire is not allowed. Please see SOD website for tire requirements. SOS teams are NOT required to buy a SOD membership. SOD will have a supply of new tires for sale and they also hope to have a supply of used ones. |

WINS SEASON OPENER

A
familiar face graced Brighton Speedway's victory lane on
Saturday night when Joyceville, Ontario's Rick Wilson
won the opening event for the Southern Ontario Sprints
2008 season. It was Wilson’s 3rd opening night victory
at Brighton and his 12th career SOS feature win all time
at the speedway, a traditional stop on the SOS tour.

AND DICK MAHONEY: A FAMILY AFFAIR |

| Baseball legend Satchel Paige supposedly once said that “age is a question of mind over matter; If you don’t mind, it don’t matter.” With his 60th birthday in the rear view mirror, Dick Mahoney certainly doesn’t seem to mind. The
Newmarket, Ontario resident has won a Southern Ontario Sprints feature event in each of the last two seasons, and shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

DAY JUST GOT BIGGER |

| An SOS tradition that began as a part of the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals at the Ohsweken Speedway is no longer. The SOS season ending event will no longer be the SOS Championship Invitational at Ohsweken Speedway. With the move to weekly sprint car racing at Ohsweken and the success of Ohsweken’s Canadian Sprint Car Nationals, the SOS Season finale will now be shifted, to become a part of Brighton Speedway’s Annual Labour Day Classic to be held August 29 & 30.

Southern Ontario Sprints will now crown their champion
at the Brighton Speedway during the Labour Day Classic
Weekend. The two day event will see increased payouts
for the winners on each night.
